'Black Panther' premieres with standing ovation

Los Angeles [U.S.A], January 31 (ANI): From being called as a 'cultural phenomenon' to the 'best Marvel movie', 'Black Panther' seems to have taken everyone by storm.

So, it was nothing unusual for the director Ryan Coogler to be treated like a king, isn't it?

According to the Hollywood Reporter, the director earned a sustained standing ovation when he took the stage to introduce the cast of his Marvel Studios film, including his leading man Chadwick Boseman.

The cast also included Michael B. Jordon, Lupita Nyong'o, Danai Gurira, Martin Freeman, Daniel Kaluuya, Letitia Wright, Winston Duke, Angela Bassett, Forest Whitaker, Andy Serkis and Sterling K. Brown.

Even the stars could not stop praising the director, the film's lead actor Chadwick Boseman, who essays the role of superhero 'Black Panther', said that he is willing to put himself through sickness in order to get the right thing on the screen.

"He's a very, very honest director. He'll tell you what he believes in. You trust what he's saying, because he lives it, he's dreaming about it. He's willing to put himself through sickness in order to get the right thing on the screen," noted Boseman.

Coogler, Boseman and many other castmembers wore clothing honoring the film's African's roots.

The actor also hopes that people will watch this movie and see the hero in themselves, even if it is a white person.

He shared, "I hope people will watch this movie and see the hero in themselves. Even if it's a white person who sees it, if they can see a black character and identify with them, it changes a little bit about how our society is."

Meanwhile, the first reactions to Marvel's Black Panther were unleashed on social media following the Monday premiere.

While formal reviews are currently under embargo, the reactions from those in attendance are extremely positive.

Critics are saying that it was by far the most political Marvel had ever been. (ANI)
