Kenneth Branagh to direct Tom Hiddleston in 'Hamlet'
Washington D.C. [U.S.A.], August 2 (ANI): Tom Hiddleston is all set to be the Prince of Denmark. According to the Entertainment Weekly, the 'Thor' star is set to star in Hamlet on the London stage, playing William Shakespeare's titular Danish prince in a new production directed by Kenneth Branagh. The play is a joint production between the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art and Branagh's theater company and it will run for three weeks in September at London's Jerwood Vanbrugh Theatre. Both Branagh and Hiddleston graduated from RADA, and Hamlet marks a reunion between the two, as Branagh directed Hiddleston in the original 2011 Thor movie. This is not the first time Branagh is helming Hamlet. He directed and starred in the Oscar-nominated 1996 film version (which also starred Kate Winslet, Robin Williams, Billy Crystal, Judi Dench, Derek Jacobi, and Julie Christie). Hiddleston's 'Hamlet' will run from September 1 through September 23, and tickets will be available through a ballot system on RADA's website. (ANI)
