Disney cuts ties with most watched blogger after anti-Semitic posts
London [UK], Feb. 14 (ANI): Disney has cut ties with YouTube's most watched blogger PewDiePie for posting numerous videos containing anti-Semitic remarks. With more than 53 million subscribers on YouTube, 27-year-old PewDiePie, whose real name is Felix Kjellberg, is known for posting humorous clips, mostly about video games. Kjellberg has turned his videos into a lucrative business, earning more than $14m per year from advertising, sponsorship and appearance fees, reports the Wall Street Journal. A spokesperson for Maker Studios, the Disney division that had collaborated with PewDiePie, said: "Although Felix has created a following by being provocative and irreverent, he clearly went too far in this case and the resulting videos are inappropriate." Following an investigation into the anti-Semitic, Disney has ended this joint venture. Over the last six months, the YouTuber has posted almost nine videos that include either anti-Semitic jokes or Nazi imagery including one posted on 11 January that featured two men holding a banner that stated: "Death to all Jews". Another video was posted on January 22, featuring a man dressed as Jesus, saying: "Hitler did absolutely nothing wrong." Untill now, YouTube has not removed any of the videos, although PewDiePie's channel has pulled three of them. (ANI)
