'La La Land' intensifies 'magical journey towards Oscar glory by bid at Director's Guild Awards
London [UK], Feb. 6 (ANI): 'La La Land' is not in a mood to stop its magical journey at the award ceremonies. The film now picks up another huge Hollywood award in its bid for Oscar glory. Damien Chazelle, the director of the musical starring Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone received the Director's Guild Award for a feature film at the star-studded ceremony in Los Angeles, reports The Guardian. The 32 year-old Chazzelle said, "I'm a movie maker because I love movies. I was three years old watching Cinderella on loop. I felt that movies were powerful because they speak to everyone. All countries All cultures." Gosling, who attended the award ceremony, could not stop praising the vision and the creativity the director had in his mind and joked by saying, "He directed his birth in a single take." The award is seen as an accurate predictor for the success at the Academy Awards as 12 of the last 13 DGA winners have gone on to win the Oscar for best director. Damien Chazelle is bidding to become the youngest ever winner of the best director award at the Oscars on 26 February, where 'La La Land' has earned 14 nominations, equaling the record for 'Titanic'.(ANI)
