Musicians have hard time digesting Trump's demand for apology from 'Hamilton' cast
Washington D.C. [USA], Nov. 20 (ANI): Music stars like Pink and John Legend are reacting to US President-elect Donald Trump's demand for an apology from the cast of Broadway musical 'Hamilton'. "Donald Trump has asked someone to apologize for being rude. Always good to start your Saturday off with a laugh," Pink tweeted Saturday morning. After the curtain, 'Hamilton' actor Brandon Victor Dixon told VP-elect Mike Pence from the stage that the Broadway hit's multiracial and multicultural cast is concerned about the Trump administration. The President-elect reacted early next morning with a tweet demanding that the cast apologize for being "rude" to Pence. "Proud of @HamiltonMusical. Proud of @BrandonVDixon, for leading with love. And proud to remind you that ALL are welcome at the theater," wrote Lin-Manuel Miranda, best known for creating and starring in the Broadway musicals 'Hamilton' and 'In the Heights'. "If #boycotthamilton goes like #boycottbeyonce I'm gonna start #boycottjohnlegend. Shit seems lucrative," tweeted John Legend. Band Garbage bitterly wrote, "Trump wants an apology from what?!! History?!?! What a twat." "Pence going 2 a Broadway show & xpecting not 2 get boo'd, is like going 2 a black family reunion xpecting not 2 hear FrankieBeverley&Maze," tweeted R&B and neo soul singer-songwriter Eric Benet. ""Hamilton Cast harassed Pence." Do u ever stop whining? An apology?Seriously?!U won, this is the job,get on with it or get out of the kitchen," tweeted 'Guns & Roses' frontman Axl Rose. (ANI)
