Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], January 26 (ANI): On the occasion of the 77th Republic Day, Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan took to Instagram and shared his heartfelt greetings, calling India a land of "unity in diversity."
"Proud to be Indian, our country teaches us there is strength and unity in diversity. Happy Republic Day to all of us. Jai Hind and love to all...," Shah Rukh wrote while extending happy wishes to fellow Indians," SRK posted.

Earlier in the day, actor Akshay Kumar also conveyed his Republic Day wishes to citizens of India.
"Akshay Kumar took to X, formerly Twitter, and wrote in Hindi, "Say with pride, we are Indians! Happy Republic Day. Jai Hind! Jai Bharat," he wrote on X.

Kamal Haasan wrote, "The Indian Republic was born when our forefathers chose to throw off the imperial yoke and govern themselves through the Constitution. Its strength lies in respecting diversity, federalism, and the democratic spirit. As long as the Constitution lives in our conduct, the Republic remains strong. Happy #RepublicDay to all my fellow Indians."
Republic Day marks a defining milestone in India's national journey. It marks the day the Constitution of India came into force on January 26, 1950, formally establishing the country as a Sovereign Democratic Republic.
While independence on August 15, 1947, ended colonial rule, it was the adoption of the Constitution that completed India's transition to self-governance based on law, institutional accountability, and the will of the Indians.
President Droupadi Murmu presided over the grand celebrations on Kartavya Path in New Delhi. The President of the European Council, Antonio Costa, and the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, attended as the Chief Guests on this momentous occasion. (ANI)
