'63 solar microgrids of 1899 kWp installed in India'

New Delhi [India], Jan 4 (ANI): Minister of State (IC) for Power and New and Renewable Energy, R.K. Singh claimed that so far, 63 solar microgrids of 1899 kWp aggregated capacity have reportedly been installed in the country.

The installations have been financed by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), under the Solar Off-grid and Decentralised Applications Programme, Singh stated in a written reply to a question posed on steps taken by the Government to explore the solar microgrid model in the country, in the Lok Sabha on Thursday.

Singh further claimed that the ministry has provided financial support of up to 30 percent of the cost of micro/mini-grids systems for installation in the rural areas of the country. The design capacity of microgrid depends upon the requirement to be catered, he added. (ANI)
