The MoU envisages the transfer of the Barauni Thermal Power Station (720 MW) to NTPC. In addition to this, equities of the Bihar State Power Generation Company (BSPGCL) in Kanti Bijlee Utpadan Nigam Limited (KBUN) and Nabinagar Power Generating Company (Pvt.) The Barauni Thermal Power Station, which is located at Begusarai district in Bihar, comprises Stage-I (2x110 MW) (under advanced stages of R&M) and Stage-II (2x250 MW) (under construction), while the NPGC is a 50:50 joint venture company of NTPC and BSPGCL.
