Yamaha dedicates itself to ASEAN motorcycle industry

Yamaha 2019 Media Conference at Sepang International Circuit

Sepang [Malaysia], Feb 17 (ANI): Yamaha held the 2019 Media Conference at Sepang International Circuit here, and is actively engaging in racing effort all over the world under its three main principles of “raising the value of Yamaha brand, acquiring advanced technology, and promoting the healthy spread of motorcycle racing.”
Sepang International Circuit has become not only the representative racing circuit of Malaysia but also a symbol of motorcycle racing circuits in Asia.
Yasutaka Suzuki of Yamaha Motor said, "It goes without saying that Asia is the most important market for Yamaha’s motorcycle business. And we are spending significant time and effort on strategic promotional initiatives to grow the number of people here who watch, participate and support racing."
During Moto GP introduction, Valentino Rossi, who is known as 'the fastest man in the world' and Maverick Vinales from Moto GP Yamaha Motor Racing team were introduced. The two talked about the aspiration of the team for this year’s season.
The result of the efforts put in 2018 included Valentino Rossi being placed 3rd overall in the Moto GP World Championship with teammate Maverick Vinales finishing 4th, Yamaha brought intensive excitement to people around the world.
Since 2015, Yamaha has been creating a step-up structure to develop young riders from Southeast Asia and around the world.
The effort in this area has shown steady progress and result as several riders have made the jump from Asia to Europe in pursuit of a new challenge.
Keminth Kubo, a Yamaha Rider said, "I am so happy to join in FIM CEV Moto2 European Championship. I will do my best for the best result."
"I am so honoured to take part in FIM CEV Moto2 European Championship this year. For me, this challenge is going to be a new step for my career," said another rider, Anupab Sarmoon
Yamaha Rider Galang Hendra Pratama also said, "This year, my target for 'World Supersport 300' is to be world champion with new YAMAHA R3. Please support me. One step ahead YAMAHA!"
In 2019, Yamaha Motors will mark the beginning of 65 years of racing. Yamaha puts its maximum effort in contesting the world’s principal racing series, contributing to nurturing next generation of racers and thereby, promoting motorsports culture. (ANI)
