New Delhi, Aug 12, (ANI): The US-India Business Council (USIBC) concluded its Digital Economy Executive Mission in New Delhi. The delegation emphasized its desire to further collaborate with the government on the Prime Minister Narendra Modi's flagship initiatives, including Digital India, Make in India, and Startup India. The delegation highlighted a number of policy reforms that could be implemented to increase economic growth, create jobs, and improve the country's ease of doing business ranking. The delegation was led by Michael DiPaula-Coyle and Harish Krishnan, Vice Chairman of the Digital Economy Committee. The mission included delegates from Cisco, IBM, Google, Amazon, Intel, Access Partnerships, and Qualcomm. "We had constructive meetings with the Government of India on a wide variety of topics from policies on cloud, encryption, broadband infrastructure creation to ease of doing business," said Harish Krishnan. "We believe this government has a pro-growth agenda that envisages a more innovative, connected, digital India. USIBC membership looks forward to playing its role in building Digital India." USIBC Digital Economy member companies represent every aspect of the global Information and Communications Technology (ICT) sector. In an effort to enhance bilateral commercial relations, the committee seeks to promote policies that will lead to greater growth in the Indian ICT sector. The Executive Committee holds biannual missions to India in order to maintain close contact with key government officials to ensure that the Government of India view USIBC and its member companies as partners throughout the policy-making process in this dynamic and promising sector.
