Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], January 29: On the occasion of Republic Day, a grand traditional wrestling event, "Kushti Ka Mahadangal 2026," was successfully organized at Shri Vilasrao Deshmukh Ground, Kandivali East, Mumbai, marking a strong revival of India's wrestling heritage.
The mega event was held under the leadership and patronage of Narsingh Yadav, whose vision to restore the glory of Indian kushti received widespread appreciation. Several eminent dignitaries attended the event, including Union Minister Ramdas Athawale, Maharashtra Minister Girish Mahajan, MLAs Atul Bhatkhalkar and Sanjay Upadhyay, former MP Gopal Shetty, actor Mukesh Rishi Dipaanita Patra among others.
Organized by the Narsingh Foundation and Nagrik Sanrakshan Dal, the Mahadangal featured top wrestling teams such as Maratha Warriors, MP Mahaveers, UP Yoddhas, and Sher-e-Punjab, with star wrestlers Maharashtra Kesari Prithviraj Patil and Punjab Kesari Karandeep Singh delivering thrilling bouts.

Speaking on the occasion, MLA Sanjay Upadhyay praised Narsingh Yadav's efforts, stating that the event reflects the return of wrestling culture in Mumbai and the growing enthusiasm among youth.
With the launch of a year-long Mahadangal Series, Narsingh Yadav aims to create a national platform for traditional wrestling, taking Indian kushti to new heights.
