Jugnoo bags 'Start-up of the Year' award

New Delhi [India], Sep 3 (ANI): Auto rickshaw aggregator Jugnoo has been awarded the 'Start-Up of the Year' at ASSOCHAM Start-up Summit and Tech Awards, 2016 for its efforts in disrupting the Indian consumer transportation segment and using technology to revolutionize the auto rickshaw segment in the country.

New Delhi [India], Sep 3 (ANI): Auto rickshaw aggregator Jugnoo has been awarded the 'Start-Up of the Year' at ASSOCHAM Start-up Summit and Tech Awards, 2016 for its efforts in disrupting the Indian consumer transportation segment and using technology to revolutionize the auto rickshaw segment in the country. The Start-up and Tech Award was organized by ASSOCHAM in association with Software Technology Parks of India, STPI, Government of Haryana and Government of Punjab. The one-day summit was attended by startups and 30 + speakers including mentors, tech gurus, motivational orators, successful entrepreneurs, angel investors, venture capitalists and others. The interactions revolved around giving boost to the sunrise sector in North India, the entrepreneurial spirit existing in the region and the ways in which India's demographic dividend can be leveraged for India's advantage. The show also hosted a live pitching session wherein the shortlisted startups contested to the panel of venture capitalists and angel investors for fundraising. "We are honored and humbled to be chosen as the 'Start-Up of the Year' among some of the top names in the segment. We thank ASSOCHAM and the organizers who appreciate the efforts put in by entrepreneurs like us, this will only motivate us to do better and achieve our goals. The summit aims at developing the entire start up eco-system in Northern India - from informing Start Ups with their capital requirements, incubation, issues related to intellectual property, marketing support, financial and technical help to scale up their businesses. The event included a round table and start up clinic, live pitching, unfolding of the startup Policy, the startup awards, mentor connect and business networking. (ANI)
