Indian equities on a positive note for second day, Sensex closes at 35,898

Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], Feb 21 (ANI): Benchmark indices ended higher on Thursday with financials such as ICICI Bank and Indiabulls Housing Finance Ltd taking the lead for second consecutive session.

All sectoral indices on NSE traded higher with metal, pharma, and media gaining about one per cent.

Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], Feb 21 (ANI): Benchmark indices ended higher on Thursday with financials such as ICICI Bank and Indiabulls Housing Finance Ltd taking the lead for the second consecutive session.
All sectoral indices on the National Stock Exchange traded higher with metal, pharma, and media gaining about one per cent.
The BSE S&P Sensex closed 142 points higher at 35,898 while the Nifty 50 closed 54 points up at 10,790.
Indiabulls Housing Finance, Bajaj Finserv, Tata Motors, Dr Reddy’s and Vedanta were the biggest gainers.
Shares of Piramal Enterprises gained 2 per cent after the company informed stock exchanges that the Supreme Court in September 2018 exempted Saridon and its formulation from the list of banned fixed-dose combinations.
However, Bharti Infratel, Yes Bank and Infosys lost ground.
The overall market sentiment was up after gains in broader Asian markets amid optimism over on-going US-China trade talks in Washington.
US officials believe the negotiations have gone well so far and President Donald Trump is open to extending the March 1 deadline to complete negotiations. (ANI)
