Guiyang (Guizhou) [China], May 27 (ANI): To create a new chapter in India-China cooperation in the new era of digital transition, the 2019 Sino-India IT and DT Industry Cooperation Forum was held here on Monday.
Underlining Chinese President Xi Jinping's idea of enhancing the 21st digital Silk Road, Wang Shije, Vice Governor of the Guizhou province said: "Our president has pointed out that big data and artificial intelligence have a great impact on the economy and people's lives. To make progress and boost development, we need to have in-depth exchanges."
Shije said big data contributed more than 20 per cent of the development and hence Gazhiou has been binding together with India because of its impeccable IT industry.
Echoing similar sentiments, Deputy Chief of Mission at the Indian embassy Acquino Vimal said that India is working closely with Gazhiou to churn out better results in the field of big data.
"We are making efforts to strengthen links at the provincial level. After Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with Chinese President Xi Jinping in Wuhan, we have been able to make considerable improvement in our bilateral relationship. The National Association of Software and Services Companies (NASSCOM) has opened an IT corridor for better exchanges," he said.
Highlighting that India-China trade has reached 100 billion dollars, Vimal said businesses are likely to get a further boost with the help of IT corridors.
"The idea of IT corridor is to enable Indian companies, especially small and medium enterprises to connect with China businesses looking for partners," he said.
During the event, NIIT Technology (Shanghai) signed cooperation agreements with Guizhou University and Guiyang Education Bureau.
The event was held on the sidelines of International Big Data Industry Expo 2019 which opened on Sunday. The four-day event is being attended by 448 enterprises from 59 countries, according to the organisers.
The expo features high-end dialogues, forums, contests and exhibitions highlighting the technical innovations.
It is being attended by representatives of companies like Apple, Qualcomm, Huawei, Tencent, Alibaba and Foxconn. Initiated in 2015, the expo has become an important annual event for the big data industry. The expo attracted over 40,000 participants from 30 countries last year.
