FOGSI launches Nari Swasthya Pahel to help education, awareness of women health care

New Delhi [India], Apr 6 (ANI): The Federation of Obstetric and Gynecological Society of India has launched Nari Swasthya Pahel a women's health initiative to help education and awareness of women health care and transform lives of women in India supported by Global Health Strategies.

New Delhi [India], Apr 6 (ANI): The Federation of Obstetric and Gynecological Society of India has launched Nari Swasthya Pahel a women's health initiative to help education and awareness of women health care and transform lives of women in India supported by Global Health Strategies. FOGSI is a professional organization representing practitioners of Obstetric and Gynecology in India with over 223 member societies and over 45,000 individual members. Talking about this initiative Dr. Rishma Pai, president FOGSI said, "Women's health care is a fundamental right and Nari Swasthya Pahel is a step to connect, educate and make woman aware of the right health care and improving their lives with the help of the best gynecologists." The event was graced by Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare, Faggan Singh Kulaste, Poonam Mahajan, Member of Parliament, Poonam Dhillon, Film Actress, Dr. Jagdish Prasad, Director General Health Service, Dr. K.K. Agarwal, President National IMA, Dr. Sudha Prasad, President AOGD, Anjali Nayyar, Executive Vice President, Global Health Strategies, Dr. Hema Divakar, National Coordinator, Nari Swasthya Pahel and Dr. Hrishikesh Pai, Secretary General, FOGSI. "It is encouraging to see the government work in collaboration with reputed organisations like FOGSI and Global Health Strategies who are spearheading women's health initiatives and family planning in India and transforming lives. I support the initiative of Nari Swasthya Pahel and wish the team success. This initiative is in sync with our Prime Minster's vision of Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao mission empowering women," said Kulaste. "There are over 500 million women who require quality healthcare in our country and it's important for the government to collaborate with organisations like FOGSI and Global Health Strategies to sensitize people with health care related workshops and social programs in family planning," added Poonam Mahajan. Anjali Nayyar, Executive Vice President of Global Health Strategies said, "Our association with FOGSI and our partners is to support the implementation of policies focused on an expanded basket of contraceptive choices with a special focus on spacing methods in six states."
