Markets shut due to Mahashivratri

Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], Mar 4 (ANI): Indian equity markets remained shut on Monday on account of Mahashivratri, the Hindu festival celebrated once a year in the honour of Lord Shiva.
However, Asian shares moved up amid signals that the United States and China were close to striking a pact on ending their long-standing trade tariff disputes.
Reports said Washington could remove most of its tariffs on Beijing. Also, a summit between US President Donald Trump and his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping to sign a final trade deal may take place later this month.
On Friday, Indian indices traded mostly in the green with the Bombay Stock Exchange S&P Sensex closing 196 points higher at 36,064 while the National Stock Exchange Nifty 50 closed 71 points up at 10,864.
Traders made purchases with somewhat easing of tensions between India and Pakistan following the release of an Indian Air Force pilot by authorities in Islamabad.
The hostilities along boundaries between the neighbouring nations had flared after the Pulwama terror strike in Jammu and Kashmir on February 14. (ANI)
