This groundbreaking film sheds light on a prominent mental disorder that affects people worldwide but remains largely unknown in India. The disorder impacts 3 out of 1,000 people in India, while the figure rises to 5.1 out of 1,000 in the United States. Disturbingly, 72% of patients in rural India and 83.3% in urban non-metro areas remain untreated, mainly due to a lack of awareness, even among medical professionals.
The film aims to bring much-needed attention to this mental health issue, which has been largely overlooked in Indian cinema and society. "THE UNKNOWN MIND" promises to be a revelation in terms of storytelling and will help raise awareness among the Indian population, including the diaspora.
