New Delhi [India], July 7 (ANI): Diebold Nixdorf, a global leader in enabling connected commerce across financial and retail industries is already a market leader in the ATM segment in India with over 49 per cent market share and presence in over 4,000 cities and towns. With regards to the retail business the company has so far focused largely on tier 1 cities and is now looking at taking its ePoS solutions to tier II and III cities in India as part of its renewed retail business strategy in India. The company completes it's 25 years of operations in India, today and besides ATMs is also looking at expanding its footprint in the Retail segment, especially post the Wincor Nixdorf combination. Currently, Diebold Nixdorf has deployed 29,000 ePoS machines in Tier 1 cities. The company is not only seeing ample opportunities to expand their retail (ePoS) side of the business in India but is also aiming to grow its retail revenues by 30 to 40 percent this fiscal. The company has started preparing to enter the tier II and III cities of India and is expecting to get returns towards the beginning of next financial year. The company is developing customised solutions and products for the same purpose. Diebold Nixdorf has been the pioneer in the industry by installing the first ever ATM in India. It also has other firsts to its credit like ATM for the visually challenged, in-branch teller automation solution and India's first solar-powered ATM installation. "We have not only assisted the financial institutions in transforming their businesses but as a leader in the ATM maker segment we have built an advanced infrastructure for the consumers living in the digitally driven economy," said Diebold Nixdorf MD, South Asia and VP, Operations, Asia-Pacific, Jaivinder Singh Gill. "We see a lot of potential in the ATM recycling market and thus are expecting high growth in cash recycling systems with almost 30 percent y-o-y market growth expected in 2017/18 as per our internal estimates. Furthermore, ATM logical security, Multi-vendor software solutions, branch redesign and teller automation are also other important focus areas for Diebold Nixdorf in India since Banks are now wanting to secure their ATM network, unlock the value in the ATM infrastructure and also significantly reduce their operational costs," added Gill. "Our partnership with Kony, an industry leader in the mobile application development platform, will also be transformative since Kony's mobile application platform enables a unified and highly personalised experience and integrates multiple channels together by leveraging cross-platform data. Diebold Nixdorf also partners with retailers to drive traffic into their stores through its advanced retail technologies and services, while helping them update infrastructure and software that can enable a more holistic view of their channels.
