Dell, Sikshana Foundation announce scholarship for 360 girls in Karnataka
New Delhi [India], June 25 (ANI): Sikshana Foundation, a Karnataka-based NGO, in collaboration with Dell awarded scholarships for the education of 360 underprivileged girl children from rural Karnataka. Additionally, 50 deserving students will be selected for life-skills training programs to equip them with employability skills. In the fifth year of collaboration with Dell, the sponsorship supports the education of 360 girl students who belong to Ramnagara district. In an attempt to raise the bar for girl children in terms of employability, the collaboration includes resources for girls who are passionate and talented in the field of sports. "While it is important to educate the girl child, it is equally crucial to ensure her employability to secure her future. We are grateful to Sikshana Foundation for addressing this need and consider it our privilege to partner them in their journey to achieve this. At Dell, we believe that technology should be about enabling human potential and making lasting contributions to the community and are thrilled to have been able to live up to our commitment by taking measurable action," said Rajeev Kapoor, Vice President Finance and CSR Champion, Dell EMC India. In a first of its kind initiative, Sikshana Foundation has designed a nine-month program which will focus on improving conversational English competency among the participants. This project is slated to be implemented this academic year 2017-2018. (ANI)
