Chennais Amirta to award scholarships worth over Rs. 1 crore to meritorious students

New Delhi [India], May 12 (ANI-NewsVoir): Chennais Amirta International Institute of Hotel Management, winner of `Award of Excellence' from the hands of President of India, has announced scholarships of worth over Rs. 1 crore, including 100 percent scholarships, in recognition of the achievements of the students and to be awarded in the upcoming academic year 2017-18.

New Delhi [India], May 12 (ANI-NewsVoir): Chennais Amirta International Institute of Hotel Management, winner of `Award of Excellence' from the hands of President of India, has announced scholarships of worth over Rs. 1 crore, including 100 percent scholarships, in recognition of the achievements of the students and to be awarded in the upcoming academic year 2017-18. The institute is to offer scholarships not only on the basis of `Academic' merits but beyond it and including `Attendance', `Attitude', `First Generation Scholar' and `Underprivileged Status' to benefit students at large and as a way of recognizing each of the noteworthy aspects. "Our institute's teachings are of value in real time and focus on practical ways of learning. This has made our institute stand apart and demonstrate success in pass percentages and recruitment. We encourage every laudable aspect of the students. Our scholarship programme is also designed on this basis." said R. Boominathan, CEO of the institute. Chennais Amirta in tie up with Bharatiyar University, Bharathidasan University, Bharat Sevak Samaj and international institutions such as Malaysian University and London School of Business and Finance offers UG (B.Sc), PG (MBA) and Diploma programmes including Diploma in Hospitality Management; Diploma in Hotel Management; Advanced Professional Diploma in Hotel Management and Catering Science; Diploma in Food Production; and B.Sc (Catering Science and Hotel Management) to 7,000 students. The institute facilitates internships and placements through its tie-ups with nearly 450 hospitality establishments spread globally. The institution in the recent past has set a record with 100 percent employability in the Job Fair conducted at its campus where 2587 students of it have secured positions in 180 Star Properties across the Nation. Scholarship details A 10 percent concession on First semester fee (Tuition cum Practical) will be offered to SC/ST students and first-generation graduates across all courses. Also meritorious students of +2 and 10th standards with above 90 percent score in respective Board Exam will be eligible for 10 percent concession on First semester fee. Scores above 80 percent in Board exams will fetch a 5 percent scholarship. A student qualifying under all the above said criteria will enjoy a 20 percent waiver in fee. Students registering 100 percent attendance in 1st semester will get a 10 percent concession benefit during 2nd semester. Scoring 90 percent in Academics (Semester Exams) will also get a 10 percent concession. Those eligible under both the criteria will be entitled to a 20 percent waiver. 100 percent scholarship will be given to students who are good in Studies, Attendance as well as Attitude during their first year at Chennais Amirta and to those who showcase their talents and bring laurels to the institution. Swathi - B.Sc, Mr. Shahul Hammed - B.Sc, Ms. Malar - B.Sc, Mr. Madan Kumar - LSBF, Ms. J. Surya - IPD, Mr. R. Jagan - B.Sc, Ms. Thevar Kokila Subbiah - IPD, Ms. I. Sasikala - IPD, Ms. Vijayashanthi - IPD, Mr. Sam Jeba kumar - IPD, who showed up well in Academics, Attendance and Attitude are the 100% Scholarship winners of the Academic Year 2016-2017. Elumalai (B.Sc), Bronze Medal winner in Vegetable Carving Competition at AAHAR International Food and Hospitality Fair 2017 held at New Delhi recently will be supported with 100 percent Scholarship. It is to be noted that the Management has already honored Elumalai with Rs. 50,000 cash prize for his achievement and Rajathi, Silver Medal winner in India Skills Competition, with Rs. 75,000 cash awards.
