Mobycy launches services in Chandigarh; to install bikes in Chitkara University

New Delhi [India], Feb 7 (ANI): Gurgaon-based Green Tech startup Mobycy has taken its dockless bicycling sensation to Chandigarh, by partnering with the Chitkara University.

As part of the association, Mobycy will be installing its smart bikes in the vicinity of the campus, helping students efficiently move around the sprawling campus premises and nearby places. Furthermore, the dockless bicycles will be up for rent across various key markets and sectors of Chandigarh.

"I am excited to announce our association with the Chitkara University, and a subsequent launch of operations in the City Beautiful, Chandigarh. While students will enjoy subsidized prices, even general commuters can opt for dockless bicycling, in order to cover shorter mile distances and safeguard our environment," said co-founder of Mobycy, Akash Gupta.

"We hope that people, in large numbers, would join our cause of seeing India as a greener, fitter, cycling nation," added Akash Gupta.

"Our association with Mobycy is part of our vision to extend the best atmosphere to our students. Students can now easily access this safe and eco-friendly mode of commute to access campus premises and the adjoining areas. The dockless bicycles by Mobycy support the cause of seeing a better, healthier environment and we wish the team all the best!," said director Chitkara University, Sumeer Walia.

The current model of Mobycy makes dock-less bicycling cheap at about Re 1 per hour ride, or less. Under the monthly plan, users will pay Rs. 99 for two hourly rides per day. Additionally, users will have to sign up using their Aadhaar identification and pay a nominal security deposit worth Rs. 399, which is completely refundable. Students can sign-up with their Student ID cards and pay subsidized security deposit of only Rs. 149. (ANI)
