"The LGBTQI community has dealt with a lot in the last few years. It's time that they had a voice and what better way to portray it than through films which will be showcased to the masses and gets a chance to be premiered at an International platform. Our focus has always been to promote the community and encourage these voices that need to be heard. Through Blued, we want to have an open dialogue, not with just the community but those who have a wrong opinion about this community. We hope to see more participation in BQF and addressing more issues through this platform", said Sanyam Sharma - Marketing Director, Blued India.
The shortlisted movies address issues like Gay Love, Trans Struggles, Societal Stigma, GBTQ (Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer) issues, Faith in Love, Acceptance and Awareness and Dreams and Desire.
Blued has always supported the LGBTQI community and has been instrumental in educating the masses as well as the community about their rights. Blued had previously sponsored and delivered successful campaigns highlighting the after-course of Section 377 and Holi festival for gay men.
