New Delhi [India], Feb 6 (ANI): India’s biggest cover artist hunt - Smule Mirchi Cover Star Co-powered by MobiKwik culminated on the 5th of February 2019 in Mumbai.
The Smule Mirchi Cover Star finals were judged by celebrities Jonita Gandhi, Sukriti and Prakriti Kakkar, Tony Kakkar and Meet Bros. The event witnessed a musical showdown between the Top 5 finalists of the competition - Kirtirupa Sarkar from New Delhi, Ashmik Patil and Zeeshan Khan from Mumbai and Priyanka Das and Susmita Guha Thakurta from Kolkata.
The judges had a tough task of selecting the winner who wins a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to perform at the 11th Mirchi Music Awards in Mumbai in front of the Bollywood’s biggest music celebrities. After gruelling live auditions in front of the judges, Ashmik Patil from Mumbai was declared as the winner of Smule Mirchi Cover Star. He will perform live at the Mirchi Music Awards on 16th February, 2019 at Dome@NSCI in Mumbai. Smule Mirchi Cover Star has indeed been a spectacular platform for every aspiring cover artist and there are plans to have the next season in other regional languages across the country.
Commenting on the occasion, Mahesh Shetty, COO, Radio Mirchi said, “The biggest thing that any aspiring singing star looks for is a platform to perform. It was our attempt to provide that platform to the winner of Smule Mirchi Cover star. We believe that to be able to showcase their talent in front of the entire music fraternity at music’s biggest event - Mirchi Music Awards - is going to be an experience they will never forget.”
