Afcons secures projects worth nearly ₹900 Cr in July

The first day of SEMICON India 2026 saw the government lay out a wider roadmap for the next phase of India's semiconductor programme, with around Rs 1 lakh crore in investment commitments, plans to create close to one lakh jobs and a series of agreements spanning chip manufacturing, materials, packaging, design and talent development.

India’s semiconductor push is beginning to move into a commercial production phase, with companies expanding local manufacturing, bringing products to market and building domestic supplier networks, according to industry executives at SEMICON India 2026.

Tata Trusts Chairman Noel N Tata on Thursday placed before the Tata Sons Board a proposal to provide at least Rs 25,000 crore of liquidity to the Shapoorji Pallonji Group (SP Group) through monetisation of part of its shareholding in Tata Sons.

Tata Trusts on Thursday asked Tata Sons to explore all available options other than listing, reiterating their opposition to the public listing of the holding company and stressing the need to preserve the structure of the Tata Group.

The Ministry of Coal on Thursday launched the 16th round of commercial coal mine auctions, offering 25 coal blocks across nine coal-bearing states, while handing over Coal Mine Development and Production Agreements (CMDPAs) for six mines auctioned in earlier rounds.
